In light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, how do we and should we respond to…

The above question is the focus of this blog.  The phrase “humanitas remedium,” is a Latin term meaning Humanity or Culture remedy. The human condition is in need of a deep and lasting remedy. To that end we hope to use this blog as a forum to discuss that remedy, the problem(s) of humanity and all of its trappings by engaging in a thoughtful critique of the world around us through a conversation dealing with theology, philosophy, politics and the greater culture at large, as it relates to and intersects with the Gospel. To spoil the ending a bit, we want everyone to know up front that the remedy to all the problems of humanity are found in Jesus Christ. He is the justice this world craves and so much more.

We plan to conduct this conversation in a number of ways, which are but not limited to:

  • Posting quotations to consider.
  • Posting book reviews.
  • Posting short argumentative  or reflective essays.
  • Posting the Lecture of the week on various topics and themes and will be available for download.
  • Posting Video and other media
  • Pointing you to free resources that will help you to engage God and/or the culture.

This blog is a group blog written by five men who all attend the same Church. We come from a diverse set of backgrounds, but are united around the before mentioned question of the gospel as it relates to life.

Keep the good stuff coming. I replied to your question about Mark Steyn on my page, but I’ll copy it here for you.

Steyn is a syndicated columnist, and you can find his stuff on his website: http://www.steynonline.com. He is worth reading regularly. I’ve come to really appreciate him. I would check him out on youtube also, which will give you a flavor.

    • Thanks for the encouragement. I really appreciate your blog as well. Thanks for turning me onto Steyn.

  2. Who’s blog is this? I don’t see your name anywhere on your site???

    • I’m a mid 20’s college student/lay person in the southwest how is really a nobody. I write to help think through things and to see what others have to say and to engage in an exchange about Christ and culture. Additionally I find the internet a useful tool for defending the Truth of the gospel to those who are willing to read. I came across you blog off a comment on a challies or JT post and really enjoyed what you are doing. Thanks for asking.

  3. I like the way you’ve laid out a clear plan for your blog. Keep up the good work.

    • Thanks. I came to this current focus through doing another blog for a while that lacked focus and kept me from doing what I wanted.

  4. Thanks for stopping at Grace Dependent – I’m going to take a look around your blog and see what you have to offer. Looks pretty interesting! God bless!

One thought, gents. Could you put something at the end of each post so that we know which of the five of you posted it?

    • Great idea. We all now have usernames that will be displayed for each post so you’ll see who each post is by.

  5. Thank you for your kind comment on my blog! Blessings,
