Donald Drew: Thoughts For the Day

Trying to build relationships doesn’t  start from scratch. It starts and grows from  the soil of loving God with all my passion and prayer, intelligence and energy. This first and always and not until then will I be able to see other people as lovable and love them. By and large, you contemporaries are indifferent to the ideas of truth and morality. But they do understand and depend on loyal relationships. Many such relationships are untrustworthy, unstructured, unstable, like feathers in the wind, so to find someone alongside them, to have the possibility of a friendship, of real belonging, is manna from heaven. Only love can summon a response of love.
